Texas Creative Application
TXC is a highly selective portfolio sequence within the Stan Richards School of Advertising/Public Relations at the University of Texas. Students are immersed in program that mimics agency life through collaboration and big idea thinking. Throughout the sequence, students develop 360–degree campaigns across multiple mediums (print, digital, experiential) for multiple clients. At the end of each semester we receive a professional critique of our work.
The Spring 2020 Cohort Application Consisted of 9 open–ended prompts, which are designed to allow applicants to display their creative thinking

Prompt 1: You open a fortune cookie to reveal a slip of paper that reads, “Two Weeks”. What do you do with this information?

Prompt 2: Arguably, in recent times we’ve been living in a bad reality show, but if you could have your own reality show what would it be about?

Prompt 3: "Well, that restored my faith in humanity."

Prompt 4: If we are what we eat, what's in your metaphorical creative smoothie?

Prompt 5: IKEA is known for two things: causing fights between domestic partners, and instructions so simple they transcend cultural and language barriers. Please design your own short set of IKEA instructions that anyone in the world could follow for something completely ridiculous. If they would cause a fight that’s just icing on the cake.

Prompt 6: Create a parody ad for a popular product that flies in the face of the real product and its benefits. For example, FatBit – a wearable device that prevents you from elevating your heart rate and pinpoints the closets fried food to your current location

Prompt 7: Plot Twist!

Prompt 8: In 6 words or fewer, make us cry.
